End of September

Okay, I've spent a lot of time time over the past several months spinning my wheels and building framework and scaffolding. There has been some work going on too, but it's mostly been the work that needs to get done to get work done.

It's annoying as shit.

One of those things I did was build a thing that let's me quickly turn markdown files into things on this site. Yay.

Obviously, a lot of the stuff I had been planning for the year didn't go exactly as planned...

So let's go through the stuff from the end of 2025 and talk about where we are and what is on our much more simplified plate.

I have started messing around with a handful of things. I will admit that a lot of the things I've been messing with have been working on some physical table top games. Nothing worth trying to put out in the wild yet, but one of them might have some potential.

The theme has been going pretty well. It might end up bleeding over into next year’s theme too. I haven’t done enough of that diving into making games the way I ideally want to… but that will come.

This I have had some success in (see the next post or two). I’m going to the New Zealand Game Developer’s Conference. I’ve joined the New Zealand Game Developer’s Association. I haven’t been able to attend many of the co-working things. But I’m going to try and start doing that again.

SUCCESS

I haven’t had much success in this respect. I am trying to get my shit in order to start doing this again. I’m hoping to be able to start showing off some of the stuff I’m working on and to some degree spin up a devlog.

I definitely washed out of these. But I want to give them a go again soon. I’m looking at GDKO again too. I flopped on the first round of that and never really got anything worthwhile submitted. We’ll try to fix that in 2027.

I’ve been making things, but I haven’t really been finishing things. Which is always the problem. Good at planning and starting. Not great at finishing.

Term 3 of school for the kids is done and dusted. Term 4 starts soon. Let’s hit the ground running.
